The player has to take sole responsibility. Would Ardie Savea let this happen to himself? Forget TT. Let the players who want to win – WIN!

“Friendship”.. the rarely utilized selection tool. I wonder why that is?

James Ramm is an Aussie fullback? Is he noticeably better than say Tom Wright or Jock Campbell? Is he an option at 15 for the WB’s?

Perhaps instead of dropping a tonne of money on the Wallabies to try to get cheap wins, they should forget the Wallabies and spend it all on grass roots and coaches. Amazing how that would vastly benefit the Wallabies anyway.

What will RA do when the Lions' money runs out? Preparing ourselves for the post-rugby future

.. yes – stagnating as always, while smarter codes evolve with the times and leave rugby in Aus well behind.. so in fact by comparison, it’s actually way behind where ‘it’s always been’!

he could win you a game but just as quickly lose it.

That’s an unsubstantiated myth. Why isn’t he responsible for losing games every week when he plays against strong kiwi teams? Why aren’t they all repeatedly shredding the Brumbies down Corey Toole’s wing with tries galore if he’s as bad as you say? Clearly he isn’t.

You’re welcome to your subjective opinion. It doesn’t change the fact that speed is a gift in defence as well as attack. By the way, he does all the things you say he can’t no worse than most other guys.. who are far slower than him.

Toole, Pollard score doubles as Brumbies keep Moana Pasifika to NIL to keep up with Super Rugby pacesetters

Unique to C Toole: if an attacking overlap gets outside him, he chases it down within 20 to 30 metres, and breaks it down til help arrives. He’s that fast, he can simply run down overlaps. I’ve seen him successfully defend an overlap of 3 guys – they got round him on the halfway line – he stayed in the chase and kept chasing the pass out until he forced the last guy into touch. All within 30 metres and they’d gotten well past him. Any other winger would likely have conceded a standard overlapped try.

Blinding pace isn’t just a 5-star attribute in attack – it’s just as spectacular in defence!

Spurs has a long history of underachieving. Ange has only been there 2 years. Perhaps Ange isn’t the problem?

Run for the hills: Ange, you are far better than the Premier League

Dayum. Just when you start to enjoy weekly rugby again, they smash it to bits. This season’s been the best in 20 years because of all the rebuilds starting to bear fruit. I really think they need to focus less on Wallaby success and focus far more on SR success. A strong SR comp is mandatory for a strong Wallabies side anyway, and fans get way more content, and it’s every week. Where are our pathway juniors going to aspire to play as adults if not in a 10-team, strong SR comp? Overseas I guess, where they’ll end up being capped as foreign international players and forever lost to our Super and national sides.

Les won’t make a jot of difference to the Wallabies losing all the time, particularly when he doesn’t coach the Wallabies every week like he does a SR side. SR is exciting again this year for the first time in a long time, not least of all because all 4 coaches are pushing each other too. Leave it for 5 years to keep building and see what grows. They seem to have stumbled upon a working positive environment atm for SR. Anyway.. here we go again..!

Rugby Australia slams French clubs over poaching raid after more teenage young guns leave home shores

Two wrongs don’t make a right. So it’s always odd to me when a respected Rugby Scribe just dismisses terrible TMO or ref decision-making out of hand, with their “it’s all swings and roundabouts” delete bin. Adjudicating in all forms, by its own definition, aspires to deducing every incident correctly, as any Law Courts will verify. What’s the point of actual adjudicating otherwise? If an adjudication is wrong, it’s not adjudicating anymore – but just a bad opinion. They’re impossible to always get right, but Waratahs fans – like any fans after every match – are correct in pointing out what might be blatantly bad calls. Those are the exact moments when ideas and improvements are meant to be sourced and evolved, and adjudicating standards, ideally, move to a higher accuracy – where they were idealised to be all along. By any measure, current reffing and TMO consistencies in the game are woeful. But right from the start, blame the impossible-to-administer rule book for that.

The Wrap: Brumbies claim Australian bragging rights - and angry Waratahs fans should chill out

“Vs the Lions, game tied and a scrum defending our try line. Who would you rather be at TH? Tupou or Robertson?”

No Taniela, skipper benched and JAS at 15: Ex-Test star's 'exciting' form Wallabies XV to take on the Lions

Gee. Normally I disagree with Matty T almost every time.. but this is a fab side and evidence of why my keyboard warrior experience counts for little! Particularly pleased that Toole gets a starting spot.. I know people hate that he doesn’t smash in defence, but that’s never gonna be his go-to. If the guy is vertical, he’s SO fast he sometimes reels in overlaps within 20 metres, that are well past any other player and off for a try. I’ve seen him cover overlaps of 2 and even 3 guys in the past. Speed is uncoachable and is huge in defence too – not just attack. And I guess Frost gets the gig but I’d prefer Josh Canham on the pine. I think Jack Deb or JOC should also be in the mix in the 23 – Donno is still prone to flaky games now & then. But all up, a very good side from Matty T.

Yes.. or when he makes Skelton pack down at 2 for the scrums..!

Five left-field Wallabies selections Joe Schmidt could turn to with the Lions series on the line

That was Edmed though, not this Edmend guy.. 😁

He played in the Wallabies' last Test. Now Edmed can't crack the Tahs - and it could force his hand

Maybe during his 18 months injury break he had a wicked taste of the KFC-on-a-lounge-feet-up-watching-telly scenario, and had a life epiphany: “they’re paying me over a million bucks to do this.. why get smashed on a rugby field anymore?”

He’s done well to recover, but lots of us can relate (to the being-fat-on-a-lounge part).

Yes, streaming’s everywhere these days, but that’s not all that matters. For lots of people, and certainly in my case, I can’t justify a monthly streaming platform subscription, just to watch the Reds run about for 80 minutes a week. For me, I’ve gotta just keep up with the live Roar text coverage, then YouTube the full match replay the next day. Lame, compared to FTA.

“It’s a tough one – because I definitely wanted to stay, but I believe everything happens for a reason..”

The ol’ “everything-happens-for-a-reason” chestnut, like some mystical force is randomly manipulating your life’s direction. Pretty sure “the reason” was entirely because you signed a contract to leave mate. So.. not such a tough one to understand, really. Hope he goes well, cleans up the dollarydoos, ideally improves as a player, and gets a nice break from the spotlight for a while.

'I wanted to stay': Lolesio says Wallaby coaching uncertainty played role in decision to quit Australia

Not to mention the whole competition anticipation for the return home fixture when a team has lost away.. “home ground advantage – we’ll exact our revenge!”.. Nope – not happening with bizarre “missing matches”. Srsly wth?

The Wrap: 'Where they really sit' - brutal reality sets in for Tahs as finals reckoning takes shape

Could they have started the season 2 weeks earlier and end 1 week later? It’s an utter joke that they do this.. imagine the English Premier League only playing 35 rounds instead of 38! Vying for the premiership and some of the top sides get a free ride not playing other top teams twice, by sheer luck of the draw? So they lose the Prem by say 1 point and lose the millions that go with it! Or worse.. the 3 teams in relegation positions get a massive advantage if they get lucky and only play the top 3 teams once. Promotion/relegation is worth hundreds of millions of £‘s! Comps MUST BE pragmatically fair.. can only be home and away twice exactly. Otherwise it’s entirely unfair on random teams!

The Wrap: 'Where they really sit' - brutal reality sets in for Tahs as finals reckoning takes shape

“nobody is suggesting squeezing in two full ‘home and away’ rounds..”

That’s exactly what they should be doing! It cheapens the whole comp to not mandate all teams must play each other twice in a home and away format. They couldn’t find 3 more weeks for full validation of the comp??

No full stop, Piru?! Lazy! You’ll never be a Wallaby lock with that punctuation attitude!

Tizzano, Potter star during Force's vital come-from-behind win over Highlanders

I said I thought they “were” lazy, not that they “are” lazy. They had solid games otherwise, particularly Swain, who mostly gets through a tonne of excellent, heavy work, and whilst I’m a Swain fan, not so much Williams. Currently, Canham and LSL are showing more upside for me, or Swain and Canham. We have quite a few good locks stirring in Aus SR atm, so generally, happy days.

Well, I’m eminently pleased to offer you a new take you’ve not heard before then, Piru.. pleased I could be of service! Perhaps you could watch the footage, and facilitate a more appropriate adjective than I have? Perhaps I’ve used “lazy” as too general a description – ironically, “a lazy adjective” on my part? But they sure looked every bit of that to me. Perhaps they both paused, thinking the other was going in, but neither did, whilst IFL actually then got on with it, as then, so did the two Kiwi locks who responded to rip IFL of the ball.. while those two still hadn’t moved. Probably explainable.. but it sure didn’t look like they were the acceptable actions of two Wallaby locks.
