Hugo Plummer is promoted from the bench to partner Caleb Delany in the second row.
Otherwise coach Clark Laidlaw has named an unchanged starting team with All Blacks forwards Pasilio Tosi and Peter Lakai remaining on the bench. Lock Will Tucker joins the bench and is in line for his Hurricanes debut.
The backline is unchanged. All Blacks Tyrel Lomax (ankle), Asafo Aumua (foot), Ruben Love (ankle) and Billy Proctor (Achilles) are still sidelined.
Drua coach Glen Jackson has made 15 changes to the matchday 23 with two high-profile rookies in the squad.
Jackson has handed Inia Tabuavou – a Flying Fijian and former Racing 92 player – a start at inside centre and has named a fellow Flying Fijian and former Queensland Reds front rower Peni Ravai as loosehead prop cover on the bench.
