In my first ever Roar article I ask if we may take what is currently good and functional about Australian rugby, and deploy it…
I also call some folks arrogant.
But I don’t like doing it.
Ikitau, Valetini step up to lead Brumbies into top two - but key injuries sour bonus point win over Force
Gordon ‘reacted’ very urgently as it happens, and ran to the other side of the scrum.

I was thinking prior to the concussion that Sualii was doing too much tight physical work.
One overpopulated tackle later…..
Wishing him full and speedy recovery

I hear obesity and divorce are ‘popular’ too.

“ Wingers would be the only ones with a remote chance to come from Union to league”
Oh please.
Michael OConnor, Wally Lewis, Ray Price, the list is long.

There are a couple of roos loose in a few paddocks though.

What? Second rowers? Do you mean to say that rugby is a team game?
'Do I know how to play rugby?': Wallaby's extraordinary admission ahead of Lions amid crisis of confidence
“ As far as officiating is concerned, players coming through, past the offside line and cleaning out players on the other side of the ruck, without the ball, is a blight on the game”
Yep. Beyond a joke.
“The kiwi teams get away with murder on this front in SR but they don’t do it in tests. Is this because the referees are better?”
Perhaps, but then we have OKeefe, who, despite being an excellent referee generally, shows symptoms of gridiron blindness.
Bewildering selection calls that could damage Wallabies' Lions tour chances - five things
“ Max Craig through towards the back”
Spelling matters.
Regarding OKeefe. Kiwi refs in general watch too much NFL.
During rugby matches.
And do nothing about it.
Detention after class for all of them. A thousand lines – “Gridiron blocking is not rugby”.

The trouble Paul with your model is, despite its sweet scheduling, a competition needs competitiveness.
The Super scenario is under discussion because it’s a lower tier that the US may more realistically compete at.

“ worry about the Sydney siders would be my suggestion ”
Why, oh why, do not people think more about the Sydneysiders?

Yes Theoretically the US team could camp in NZ and in OZ.
But then there’s no ‘home’ game for them (and no US Dollars at the gate).

Geoff, I appreciate the positivity towards my ‘local’ team. And your suggestions are valid, technically.
But the Tahs have been Australia’s answer to Auckland.
Too many distractions, not enough cultural cohesions.
The Wrap: As ever, parochialism in Australian rugby rears its head in battle over Kiss appointment
Tahs must acknowledge at some time, maybe during this decade, that they have a cultural problem.

Well said Mz. I attempted a similar statement, but yours is more colourful and thorough. These two excellent writers don’t deserve such suspicion.

Not fair for mine, Phil.
Harry wrote an extraordinarily accurate warning piece prior to Eddie’s appointment. With a tone benevolent towards Oz rugby. It sadly came to pass.
I personally believe that both Harry and Geoff, while differing with me on a few things, hold goodwill for Oz rugby in their opinions.
No doubt they have criticisms of RA’s actions. Who here doesn’t?

“ less of a gamble than appointing a hysterical has been who was well past his use by date. ”
To be fair, Harry was much more forthright when the riskier gamble was in the offing, two years ago.

If someone jumped onto to the NRL thread to tell everyone that their code needs lineouts and a real scrum, would there be any ‘grumpy’ responses?
'It's a welfare sport': Eddie Jones on rugby's 'arrogance', 'cheap' Suaalii, 'sad' Brumbies and what must change
Thank god you’re here Pickett to clarify what the Penrith Panthers success has been built on recently.
Because that is the real point here.

I think we could all agree that we don’t know what Eddie meant.
Not for the first time.

If we are not to “ engage in irresponsible and uninformed speculation“ what ever will we do here?
I did not know that Queenslanders were ‘often called “the liquid cement of humanity” ‘.

A coach who can rock 'n' roll all night: what can we expect from the Kiss era?
Oh I’m optimistic Lukas. My phrasing was a tad patronising on a second read.
I am with you looking for the positives in this.
And I think that there are several ways of reading this opportunity that could see the Wallabies smelling sweeter than roo poo.

So will today be the day that we finally seal it with a Kiss?

Thought the same Crow. I can see the day when ball carriers will be banned from late head dropping into contact with ‘already low’ tacklers.
Some instances on the weekend looked like ball carrying head buts.
