In my experience it’s more common to hear nothing at all than to get a call or email back.

We’d be better off recruiting AFL players than sharing with league in WA.
Realistically there aren’t going to be many, if any home grown players in the Bears for a good while (unless they manage to poach a few rugby kids, which I suppose it probably the plan). Local league just isn’t at the same level as local Rugby.
There are a heap of great athletes running around oval shaped grounds in Perth who will never get a run at AFL level though – let’s target a few of them.

Quite apart from injury which is obviously the most important facet, the ruck contest is being killed by sealing off, players clearing space beyond the ruck, and other general DHery not being picked up by refs.

It wasn’t clear to be honest, he kind of ended up on the bottom of a ruck and got twisted

If the intercept he took at about two minutes hadn’t been called back I reckon he would have come close to scoring a run away try.

Ref I thought was very predictable in that he almost always awarded penalties to the attacking side (that’s a good thing btw, consistent).
Not saying it’s here nor there, it was just what happened. Anyone wanting to moan about the penalty count can blame it on the Force not having enough ball.
That said, Toole’s try was off a pass at least two metres forward, I was baffled that it wasn’t brought back by TMO

Like many parts of the game, I think refs being more vigilant on attacking sides sealing off at rucks would make the short range head banging approach less attractive.
The rules are already there, they just need to be applied

Hard to know what to say except our ball skills which were noteworthy at the start of the season, seem to have fallen off a cliff. How many times did we kill our own attack with dropped balls last night?
Koteka I thought had a good game as a late replacement, Grealy, Beale and Potter worked hard but ultimately didn’t get enough ball and kicked too much of what they did get away.
Scrum looked good until Coxson went off, Robertson seems to be finding his feet. And I had to replay a few times to confirm, but Donaldson made several important tackles!
Sucks to lose but we’ll be back.
