Into the deep end for Tia Hinds! Looking forward to the match. My pass mark will be if the Wallaroos can build some pressure and put a few 5 pointers on the Black Ferns – something we’ve struggled with at times with in the past.
Wallaroos name sevens guns, K-train to start as Yapp make mass changes for Black Ferns
You don’t? If not – why not? Honest question.
Wallaroos smash Fiji to start World Cup year in style - but injuries put 'dampener' on super win
A few new combinations but they got up to speed fairly quickly. Great to see the some depth building in the squad. Pohiva played a blinder while she on. Big test against the black ferns next week.

I stand corrected – Mckenzie was selected to start Rd 1 against Wales – the head knock occurred during prep for that match. Moleka ended up starting against Wales in her place, picked up the player of the match award and went on to start in the remaining two matches as well. My source is instagram 🙂
McKenzie left out of Wallaroos squad for Fiji Test as sevens stars retained - but star rejects notion of a rift
McKenzie didn’t have a bad season, but I don’t think she has started for the wallaroos since a shellacking from the black ferns back in July last year. And a couple of bench appearances in WXV warm up games in Europe with Moleka
starting at 10. I’m hoping Joe Yapp can get a bit more out of the sevens converts than we saw in super W but maybe the conditions in Suva will make that a challenge.

Dead right. Maddie Levi’s background was AFL. For some (many?) of the 7s players, their pathway is via touch football so 7s is the only ‘contact’ version of rugby they have ever played. 15s means less space, bigger bodies and a lot of heavy contact – let alone the set
piece emphasis. Being good at one doesn’t necessarily mean you’re good at the other.
'Set up to fail': Levi's World Cup bid in peril as agent slams Rugby Australia for 'unfair' Wallaroos selection process
I’ve never heard anything but common sense from Mat Rogers and he’s on the money again with this. The sevens players have been good additions this year but hand on heart I couldn’t say any of them smashed it out of the park in super w. Time in the XVs saddle might eventually change that but placing unfair expectations on the shoulders of the 7s players is irresponsible.

Yep, so many forget this.

A few surprises there. Good to see Annabelle Codey rewarded for a strong super w showing. The three 7s players are good additions in that they compliment rather than complicate the squad IMO
Hinds skipping sevens as Wallaroos announce new-look squad for World Cup build-up
Thanks for the mention of the ladies game Geoff. Still quite the gulf between us and the kiwis. Hard to see that being bridged without significant investment of money RA doesn’t have.
The Wrap: Bare-knuckle dogfight ends in draw - and what happens when the Lions money is gone?
Yes that’s a concern if true.

Was at the game and 95% of the crowd didn’t get what was going on with the penalties – especially in the last 20
'Defended like demons': Waratahs STUN Chiefs in epic Super Rugby upset as Suaalii, Kellaway star
Yes rate him highly – he doesn’t get many plaudits but is very dependable on both sides of the ball. Kempsey Cannonballs product (all got class) – good to see.

Likewise was expecting a much tighter contest between the force and the reds. The force definitely looked flat after the big win in trying conditions the previous week. Anyway, we’ll see if they can give the tahs a run for their money. Hope grace freeman makes it back for that match.
Super Rugby W: Tahs top the table as Pohiva changes NSW's fortunes, Reds-Force clash fizzles out
Well… I’m tipping the Force to bring Qld undone this weekend. Tahs will be too strong for the Brumbies who will be the best team ever to have finished 5th in this comp. I heard somewhere that Terita has ‘committed to 15s’ this year – if so that’s great news.
Super Rugby Women's teams: All Aussie affair as McKenzie hits milestone, Brumbies' almighty swing, Reds-Force battle for home semi-final
Your minor vent is spot on – the season is way too short. And I get it – but just as teams (and players) are starting to find their groove it’s into semis and a GF. Compare this to the PWR (16 rounds) or Elite 1 feminine (14 rounds). It’s a pity – the rugby has been great this year with every team competitive.
Super Rugby W: Reds too good for Brumbies - no surprise, Caslick can play 15s - but there's one thing comp must fix
Yes I did a double take when I saw Kramer at 10
Super Rugby Women's teams: now or never for Brumbies, cavalry returns for Drua-Force finals showdown, Cramer's surprise shift
None of the 7s players looked out of place in my view – some inexperience there positionally but otherwise their skills are excellent. Levi over-egged the omelette a few times but laid on two try assists and stopped Stewart on the line with a big tackle – which doesn’t happen often . Caslick didn’t really get much of an opportunity but will be impressive when she does. Henwood has been a great find I think. There was bit of feeling in it though. And having a few of the wallaroos backs looking over their shoulder at some genuine competition should be good for the national team regardless of whether the 7s players are ultimately picked or not. Really felt sorry for the brumbies though – felt they deserved the win.
Super Rugby W: Brumbies heartbreak, Stewart cracks 40 tries, new tightheads emerge and Caslick must see more ball
The reds looked like they were trying too hard for mine. The crusaders were wise to the quick passing game and their line speed squeezed errors out of the reds all match. They then had the skill and composure to make it work for them. Josh Canham – best game from him I’ve seen I reckon. Good to see Cody Taylor back on the job too for the ‘saders.
'Incredibly disappointing': All Blacks duo help blow away Queensland Reds in first half blitz
Good read. Been interested to know more about this bloke. Good to see him get a start this weekend hope he goes well.
'Unpopular at room selection': The Waratahs recruit who sleeps with tape on his mouth to stop calling lineouts
Gee that centre pairing for the Force – Smith and Pomare – is abrasive. Feel like it was Moleka’s general kicking game that kept the Brumbies in that game along with the Forces poor handling in the second half.

I have 2 Maltese x Shitzu dogs – and now they just remind me of Nick White
Western Force snap 5060 day drought in Canberra to stun Brumbies despite being shown four yellow cards
I don’t understand why White carries on so much. It really pi$$es the refs off – unnecessarily. It was interesting to see BOK and White cross paths shortly after the game – it looked to me like White was apologising – didn’t look like BOK was buying in though

She had some wheels on her that’s for sure
Levi-less Aussies rocked by Brazil in unbelievable upset at Vancouver Sevens
A bit of kudos for Jo Yapp is due I reckon – the wallaroos continue to improve – our set piece today was excellent I thought – especially our line out. We just don’t match the power of the Black Ferns with ball in hand. I hope Hinds gets another crack at 10. Great to see Joe Schmidt in the crowd. USA next – big match as they’re in our World Cup pool.
Wallaroos' drought against Black Ferns continues despite second-half comeback
