Really great piece and thought provoking analysis. I’d question 2 points, without any evidence to back it up but my gut. First, you mentioned France don’t have any good props coming through. Are you sure? From the performance of their under 20s they seem to be in quote a strong position for years to come.
My second point is really about what was not said in your piece. Scooter Barret does just not seem to be world class at the moment and it seems like we will be stuck with him as skipper at least until next world cup. I doubt he would make the starting team of any of the top 5 or 6 teams in the world and stands out to me as the big red flag in your excellent piece

Sualli played very well defensively in a game that he was tightly marked, particularly by his opposite who made some outstanding defensive reads and tackles to keep him subdued. It was a tough game for him and he handled it exceptionally well. I guess the question is, how will his body handle years of being targeted? He’s a tough kid, but he is going to need to be. I think the signs are great

I can only watch games reffed by Carley on replay. He stops games for 10 minutes at a time, multiple times a match. Always about him. In this game he missed 2 blatant forward passes in one movement. Stands in the way of players at the ruck. Basically converting rugby, especially big games, into an unwatchable chore. Not international standard, ruined this game as well but thankful for fast forward
