Storm in a teacup AgainAgain? For the point of this article maybe just maybe Brian Lochore is the best person for the title (most inspiring figure in NZ rugby history)? and that might mean some others will not be thought of as being as good, but that is ok isn’t it? Fred Allen was a magnificent person for NZ rugby and in my opinion our greatest coach but plenty will disagree with that won’t they? “Deriding” is not an appropriate word.

Why this All Blacks great is the single most inspiring figure in NZ rugby history

The “Australian” who I asked the question to is well known Roar pundit sheek, so my thanks to him for the opinion.
Also I am grateful to the Roar for the opportunities they bring but I just have a question, if you have over 6000 “reads” should you not be published higher up the chain than where the Lochore post is now? Or is it based on “comments”?

I followed that tour from New Zealand, had the posters and magazines. BeeGee Williams was a hero,he played as it should be played.

When we were little they seemed huge but now you realise at 6ft 3 Lochore was shorter by today’s standards.

Yes,after being in the spotlight for a number of years Richie has just got away from it, no media or coaching that I am aware of.

Thanks Busted. No, nothing I saw about his nickname.
Shall we start a podcast based on our rugby wisdom?, “the wise old men” I’m sure sheek would be keen!

Paul McLean ignited critical debate between states

Hi Busted
Just wanting your feedback from you and others. Just curious, the article I wrote about Michael Lynagh only received minimal posts whereas Paul McLean is up to 45 at present. Is there anything to it or just the way it is? Which ones work best?

Paul McLean ignited critical debate between states

Thanks Gary. Yes, it was just a question about personalities to get some feedback. I don’t know the answer, will a brilliant, off the cuff, super confident, unorthodox player be like that in “real life”?
From what I read McLean played at flyhalf, fullback and inside centre. On the 1975 tour to Britain he played predominantly at fullback.

In my view Lynagh was probably the pick of them, for allround skills.

I was wondering!

Popular team man and great socialiser apparently.

Robertson was all class. Philippe Sella and Danie Gerber were handy too! John Dawes, Jeremy Guscott and Brian O’Driscoll stood out for the Lions. Tim Horan would compete with Slack for best Aussie.

I believe you are correct. Martin Stanley also ran rugby camps too.

Bruce Robertson springs to mind Kai.
