I prefer to think that the AFL learned from the Freo experience how to better support the Suns and the Giants
But I respect to a Freo fan especially one in Perth, there would be other not contributory explanations
Six Points: The AFL let everyone down in the Willie Rioli saga - especially Willie Rioli
And interstate fans of Victorian teams

I prefer Richmond vs the world!

It has to be Head. He can’t be allowed to disrupt the order based on the colour of the wicket. Cannot think of any other batter in my time afforded such indulgences?

Of the job description is to last 10 overs and protect 3-4-5-6 I would otherwise suggest we pivot and Cummins opens. As a great show of leadership. He he has excellent technique and 100% intensity.
We can then pick Green, Webster and Inglis. Smith Head and Khawaja.and the excellent Carey.
Aussie selectors will be continuing comedy of errors if they convert Marnus into an opener
This one was the GF.

I thought Christian should have referred if just to get a read on where “the line” is.
Clearly a risky action that in 2025 would be a good chance of being sanction able

Lynch just clarifying where Harley wants to live when he joins us next year
WATCH: Harley Reid and Tom Lynch gob off at each other in spicy scenes
Melbourne clearly overpaid for an overstaying Oliver. Sucked in
—
Richmond were always going to bounce a bit with new talent, a fitter Lynch and shot of all the guys who didn’t want to be there
—
So Richmond should have got a free in the 2020 GF when Dangerfield elbowed Vlastuin’s scone?

It was meant to be. Compare treatment to Hafey’s. Just as a benchmark
But I’m warming to him more now that he’s not coaching
Footy Fix: The Pies are fast, furious, fearless and fantastically coached - everything Fremantle aren't
It’s just because of his age. Inglis is 30.
Green has more batting talent and is many years younger. Fields the house down and bowls very well

Test cricket is a game of meaningful series and trophies that doesn’t need a world championship like this
It’s more like boxing. When we beat the Windies over there, everyone knew the champs were dethroned
A dodgy fixture and a one of test on neuter country, it means nothing to me. Last time, we lost to India 4 series in a row and claimed ascendancy from one match. I found it embarrassing.

Brandon Ellis. B grade player, A grade runner and team player
We didn’t know that before it clicked though
The true benefit of the point Naughty makes just below is the framework generates way overs outputs from the weaker players on the list. The point people make about who has the best or weakest #13-22 players is often just a surrogate for who has the best connection and team game style.
Shaun Grigg winning a flag playing as second ruck. Caused by circumstances. But we made it work. Because he did it for the team.

He’s the long term project
Inglis is just filler. Good quality filler
I would just drop Marnus and Ussie and play all the others
It’s a silly championship

Princess park after the upgrade was good for that
The Demons have botched their list planning - and with or without Oliver, the future looks bleak
I’d rather play 10 than Harris.

Was he there last night?

They haven’t played top level for 25 years
To be honest I don’t understand why they don’t just start again. Who really remembers the Bears t(I remember them upsetting Souths in our rare good year in 1980, Mark Harris was playing for them, o think it was the only league game I ever saw at Nyh Sydney. Cf 1 million WBBL games.)

PS 13th I remembered and then clarified what that extra Tassie assistance package wlement was:
– access to uncontracted players as free agents across two drafts
so it means, say, any first rounder last year or next who is on a 2 or 3 year deal, can get snapped by by Tassie when their first contract expires.
presumably some compo, but it explains a second reason why clubs want their players with contracts longer than those two trades

one of their names in the 90 year history was “the Shoremen”
silly club with a terrible record. no Grand finals for 50+ years. no premierships for last 75 years.

Louis Kellaway looks ok. finally we might get one

mmm flag 21 top 4 22-3
not sure that can be a botch
they might have failed to cash in when they could, but many teams do
The Demons have botched their list planning - and with or without Oliver, the future looks bleak
We had high picks only
Which we might have traded down to get a couple of bargains
But we have enough not quite sures on the list already
Good to see Alger and McKauliffe this week in a winnable game
Sonsie the sour cream the rises to the top then sinks to the bottom and so on

Anyone but Harris!

i realise richmond really miss a lefty in the guts. not only are our stable of mids slow and a bit unskilled, they are also righties always trying to turn onto it.

from last year:
Brisbane Sydney Geelong Giants Port Hawks Dogs Blues all had teams good enough to play finals
None of the really would be expected to fall away significantly
Then outside the 8, fans of the following teams would all assert they had a list good enough to play finals, especially after the draft/trade:
Collingwood
Gold Coast
Freo
Adelaide
Melbourne
and then teams that had snuck finals recently and still quietly hope:
St Kilda and Essendon
So, yes, Freo’s list is “good enough to make the finals”. And so are 13-15 others. and the fixture is hard and the season is long and only 8 will make it.

I think this partly reflects the importance of McAuliffe’s nap and point. Took the drawn out of the picture. So only a gosl suffices
I watched most of the replay last night and a true “draw a fair result game”. Both sides have many limitations, many fine older players, many fine young players, new coaches and they both went at it with gusto. Can’t really complain even though winning is nice. I thought I didn’t care then listened in to the last 5 minutes as we got ready to leave Berrima. Go Tigers.
