First and foremost, I am an avid sports fan, devouring sports like it were my last meal. I am also an English teacher teaching a sports writing class and trying to lead by example.

I mean if he did, winning a ring at 41 and if he averages the numbers he did this year, then that’s pretty impressive.

The end looks nigh for the King - will LeBron finally abdicate his throne?

I just read your article. I wonder if you think anything has changed in the last 5 years for LeBron. I don’t think this debate will be solved. I earnestly believe it comes down to personal bias in many cases. Do you honour loyalty over championships with multiple teams? Do college and post career play a part? Marketability plays a part. It’s the reason people collect Jordans.

The end looks nigh for the King - will LeBron finally abdicate his throne?

A very high chance he will. One last crack at a ring.

Yeah dead set one of the best. Big Pop fan. And Coach K. All my favourite coaches are retiring or have retired.

In a cut-throat league of disposable coaches, will we ever see another Gregg Popovich?

No I love Kobe but he isn’t number two. I think Goat status is really based on better Space Jam movie which LeBron isn’t even in the picture there….. I think it comes down to preference. I wonder though if in 20 years time people will buy LeBrons like they buy Jordan’s.

You can blame umpires all you like. Reality is pies dominated majority of the match but let the Geelong pressure get to them in the 4th. Both teams can say they should have won..17 points up late in the 4th usually is enough. A kick after the siren. It was a great match. Leave it at that.

Yeah but you can bus to Geelong. Ballarat hosts games now too. But flying is much easier these days.

The bad, the ugly and the simply inexcusable: The AFL's biggest disappointments of 2025

Yeah Rockets coming second not many would have predicted. They need a big match today to force a game 6. Jalen Green’s last two matches have been well below his usual standard.

NBA Playoffs: Part 1 - Which western team gets through to the finals?

OKC getting a lot of rest currently which theoretically should be helpful. Though we know rests can be a burden. OKC v Nuggets or Clippers is still a decent match up. T-Wolves looking very likely to get past Lakers. We will see if Lakers push a game 6 today. Warriors T-Wolves if it gets there will be a great match up too. Meanwhile the East has 3 teams into the second round already.

The handling of Balta was poor. Richmond definitely should have sat him. I wonder when the Pies will get back to Geelong. And yes the Harvey Thomas statistic is crazy now. It wont continue to escalate. Their are only so many stadiums. The point still stands no matter how many games he plays, he will have travelled more than Pendlebury. I’m assuming this is true for many players and teams outside the pies.

Oh man could you imagine how much of the year would be dedicated to football. Especially with the adding of the Tasmanian team.

The bad, the ugly and the simply inexcusable: The AFL's biggest disappointments of 2025

Yeah it’s alarming but it makes the AFL money. It’s why teams take the money to play at different stadiums like Hawthorn and North in Tassie. Not too mention games in the Northern Territory. I wonder if it is too sacrilegious to have other teams play King’s Birthday Monday or ANZAC Day.

As we head towards voting, I think I will add a new box and new candidate. Vote 1 New Match Review Panel. If I’m tipping roughies this week. Geelong and Carlton to beat Pies and Adelaide.

Is Fraser McGurk over hyped? We pump him up so much and I can’t recall the last time he lived up to the hype. I wonder how much Australian stock is declining. What will they be paid for the IPL in future years.

Australia's stars reduced to mere onlookers at IPL as cricket's new world order takes shape

Admittedly they have been able to get franchise players. LeBron, AD, Luka but the supplementary pieces haven’t been great. The Angelo Russell….again for a season. The Dwight Howard before he couldn’t get a gig in the league and went to Taiwan. Not to mention what they gave up to get Westbrook and Mike Muscula. It’s always interesting to see who they manage to pick up each season.

I wonder if LeBron will follow Jordan and go into Ownership of a team.

Rumours dont mean much really until they become truth. They have to start somewhere though.

Bill Russell won 11. It’s only one factor in the conversation for the LeBron and Jordan debate.

The end looks nigh for the King - will LeBron finally abdicate his throne?

I don’t think it’s the making the playoffs thsts being held against him. It’s the losing the championship matches that is held against LeBron. Also Jordan had retired twice by the Wizard stage.

Yeah I wonder how much he considers that? If you keep losing playoffs, it keeps putting you further behind MJ in some categories.

The end looks nigh for the King - will LeBron finally abdicate his throne?

I think when the debate for G.O.A.T involves rings and losing in playoff matches, he still sits a long way off Jordan. Still behind Kobe in that regard. The Lakers mid season change made them better. They wouldn’t have finished 3rd without the trade. Does that make him relevant if he just steps back and misses half the season? I don’t think he will retire this season but I also think that high chance he won’t win another ring. Lakers tend to not get decent pieces each year. The list of players they aim for verse the players they receive is crazy.

Scary prospect for future Australia matches. Hopefully he stays in the system and is smart with his earnings.

Exactly. It’s become too much about status and less about the game.

'You're killing the vibe, man': The stubborn NBA fans who are ruining the playoffs

I wonder if it will get better the further in to finals we go. College basketball does this so well so the issue lies in celebrities and influencers. Better high paying seats attract big names who want to dress and look a certain way. People want to express themselves. It’s a shame really though.

It’s careless in terms of how the AFL tribunal works. I don’t think it warrants time off. I think the AFL tribunal define careless as not acting within the duty of care to protect where possible. Danger got off for highlighting he did everything he could in terms of duty of care. Curtis’ tackle was different: will that help him or hinder him we will see?
