Nick works as The Roar's Producer, managing production of The Roar's video and the Roar Rugby Podcast. He can be regularly found working on their social media, talking rugby in all its forms (especially clubland), barracking for the Brumbies and NSW Country Eagles, and dropping the occasional dad joke. Outside of The Roar, he currently hosts the literary podcast 'Date With A Debut' and the rugby union podcast 'The Dropped Kick-Off'. He dropped a debut novel in 2019, 'When Men Cry', and is currently working on his next two books whenever he has a chance to.

Cheers mate, will likely still be hanging around The Roar every so often – can’t get rid of me that easily!

Thanks HiKa! Always appreciated your comments. Fortunately I won’t be going too far – you may still see me down the track talking rugby soon. Can’t stay away from The Roar for good! 😁

Jim, firstly, 20 years? There is a 2020 Super Rugby AU title in there that you’ve missed! Please also remind us how many semi-finals the Reds have made it to in the last ten years vs. the Brumbies.
Secondly, I know Mooney is a brilliant rugby brain and I’m not disputing his skill, but to assume Wests resurgence is purely off the back of his efforts alone is woefully misleading. Wests effectively have been a feeder club to the Melbourne Rebels, they’ve been stuffed with Super Rugby-level talent for years. It effectively made the Rebels a second Queensland side in Super Rugby – which is also why so many Rebels players wanted to go back to Queensland when they were shut down. Heck, there were four Rebels in the Bulldog’s side in the Final starting side last year, and that’s even before you get to the likes of Filipo Daugunu, Carter Gordon and Moses Sorovi who had previously come through the ranks. It’s been a whole point of contention both in Queensland and in Melbourne.

Ya saw through what I was trying to do all along. I’ll take that story! 😂

I will not stand for the other spelling 😂

Former Wallaby captain receives prison sentence in France, manhunt underway

I can see it in one aspect – recovery is different for every player, so it makes sense not to provide a timeline. On the other hand, the Kiwis seem to have struck a balance, nearly most of their players have actually come back ahead of the time mentioned. So go figures.

Super Rugby Pacific Casualty Ward, Round 13: Porecki, Lee-Warner return for Tahs, Paisami suffers leg injury, DMac is back

Yeah it’s really frustrating. Not only are we all thinking the same right now, we’re all consistently getting it wrong.

The Roar's Super Rugby tips and predictions, round 5: Force face a rout, Reds given edge in marquee battle

Certainly one to consider. Would love to get more access to the teams/RUPA’s data to the teams, it very likely would play a major factor. Might have to get in Tony’s ear about it!

Super Rugby Pacific Casualty Ward, Round 13: Porecki, Lee-Warner return for Tahs, Paisami suffers leg injury, DMac is back

The Reds have just provided a list of who is out this week, but don’t disclose what the nature of the injury is. I do try to go onto their site to find out more, which is why I know Flook is a hamstring and Campbell is a wrist – plus our own reporting helps us find out more like with LSL.
At the end of the day, it comes down to what the team gives us and what we can find. This is ever evolving so we may find out more in the coming weeks.

From what I’ve heard, she’s only going to miss the opening round. Will be very happy to welcome her back!

Definitely was intended 😂

Not sure. From what I’ve seen the SRW games will be live on Stan Sport, think the Development Game will be up to the discretion of the team.

Super Rugby Women's teams: Force unveils TEN debutants, 25 new starts across first round... but no Aussie sevens stars

Unfortunately, the reality comes down to the team themselves. I can understand the reasoning as it can mean there is an assumption players must be back by a certain time, and low and behold, Lolesio, predicted to be back this week, isn’t.
Better to overshoot I reckon – the Kiwis are good at this stuff. They’ve had 3-4 players return earlier than expected based on the info they’ve provided. Whole thing is a work in progress.

Super Rugby Pacific Casualty Ward, Round 13: Porecki, Lee-Warner return for Tahs, Paisami suffers leg injury, DMac is back

It’s a work in progress. The Kiwis are pretty good at that sort of stuff.

Hey mate, cheers for reaching out. Appreciate the feedback – yep, our tipping contest is still very much running. We’ve got it included in our expert predictions piece at the bottom every week, and we’ve also got a link in most rugby articles directing readers to the Super Rugby tipping page, including at the top of this article.
I’ll make it a little clearer in case any other readers have any similar issues.
