Australian rugby was forced to hold its breath on one of their own, but the Brumbies have given a positive update on playmaker Noah Lolesio, who was stretchered off during their 33-14 win over the Force on Saturday night.
After the Force turned the Brumbies around with a long kick midway through the first half, the 25-year-old attempted a desperate cleanout after Tom Wright took the ball in contact.
But the playmaker was folded back under the weight of a series of flying Force bodies, who successfully counter-rucked and won the ball.
Play stopped moments later as the Force won a penalty after Brumbies halfback Ryan Lonergan was caught offside at the ruck.
Lolesio, meanwhile, looked in agony and was quickly met by the Brumbies’ medical team.

The Japan-bound Wallaby was eventually taken off by a stretcher.
Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham later provided a positive update that the Wallaby had feeling throughout his body. The club confirmed the good news in a statement on Sunday.
“Noah was transported to the Royal Perth Hospital for further assessment and underwent medical imaging,” the Brumbies said in a statement on Sunday morning.
“We are pleased to report that scans have cleared him of any serious injury.
“Noah is in good spirits and will continue to be monitored by the club’s medical team over the coming days.
“A timeline for his return to play will be determined based on ongoing assessment and symptom resolution.”
On Saturday night, Larkham said the incident was “certainly a bit of a shock for him. It was a really awkward position and some heavy boys on top of him, so hopefully he’s OK.”
His Brumbies teammate Len Ikitau attempted to lighten up the mood by saying, “Noah should be back playing golf in a couple of weeks”.
But his captain Allan Alaalatoa admitted the injury did send a shiver throughout the Brumbies.
“It’s always tough, especially when you see him in the neck brace and getting carried off,” Alaalatoa said.
“It’s not a nice sight. Just praying for him and his recovery.”
Lolesio started in 11 of 13 Tests in Joe Schmidt’s first year in charge of the Wallabies in 2025.
