I don’t think Ange sees winning the Europa final as giving him the keys to the Spurs dressing room next season. He’s most likely been preparing for the exit already. But what he would be doing is maximising the teams chance of winning the trophy and going out on a high. Whatever happens, Fozzie is correct, Ange is an Australian coaching trailblazer and will be remembered and respected. Respect 👍

This is a key point. If the manager has a certain approach to the team, if the player is happy to fit in, then the player agent needs to button their lips and simply shut up.
Imagine Staj playing Mata when the player is less than fit and other players are being sidelined so that the ‘marquee’ gets a jog on the pitch on game day. Recipe for a disaster with the player agent simply stepping back saying “oh well, it’s not my fault that the the coach can’t coach”.

Ange’s approach of full throttle and relentless attack is great when you have the best players. You need to score goals and defend your lead. Spurs is not that team, obviously.

I get my A-league coverage via The Roar. The Age/SMH seem to focus on EPL and Socceroos/Matildas because that’s where he’ll get the hits. I did notice the weekend’s A-league in The Guardian via an article from the Australian Associated Press.
