I thought the support of the Wanderers’ crowd and the never say die attitude of the team would get them home, but Victory were too good on the night.
Victory took the lead early with an Arzani assist and in those first few minutes you could see he was going to have a big night. When the Wanderers equalised, with a nice Borello assist and an excellent Sapsford finish, I thought – here we go – the Wanderers are now coming back into the match and they were very good – until the Victory scored again and that was it. The Wanderers didn’t really get another look in, and started sending a few passes astray. The Wanderers seemed flat in the second half, but that was due to the strong Victory defence.
The whole match experience and the atmosphere on the night were brilliant.
I hope their supporters continue to return because a night at Commbank with their RBB and crowd in full voice is a unique experience. I was disappointed they would not go further in 2025.
The A-League Men finals are off to a flyer - but can anyone stop Auckland?
perhaps

Arzani was very impressive last night. He was great in attack – doing things other players aren’t able to do. And most impressive- he was defensively good as well. He worked really hard last night and on that form he is a Socceroo. We need players like him who can hopefully open up teams like Japan.

A Victory v City grand final? I’ll be there.
A-League Tipping: Elimination Finals - Accidental Adelaide with chance to stun Western
I also hope the riot police, who J have seen a bit of, also attend the Bulldogs rugby league games.

Arzani is looking like a Socceroo, Borello is an absolute livewire and Sapsford is really growing as a player. I don’t mind the idea if Pantazopolous getting into the Socceroos squad as well.

My picture is crystal clear. I’m watching it live at the ground. It is a great atmosphere – edgy.

And unfortunately the score line flattered Adelaide.

A bit more interesting now 3-2. Come on Adelaide.

They have looked poor and porous a lot.
And WU have looked pretty good.

Come on Adelaide – come back and knock them out.

Sydney – so disappointing that they didn’t make it with the squad they have.

1-0 Adelaide – you beauty!
Great save by the Sydney FC keeper, Vartuli.

The picture quality of this game (Adelaide v WU) is $hit. It’s not crisp or clean at all.

I think teams like WU should not be able to hold finals games – whether they have earned the right or not. The stadium looks empty 30 minutes before kick off and you only need 4000 to fill it.
It should be in Adelaide. That would be a much better look for football and a better game to watch.

Is that good or bad, in your opinion?
FA CEO Johnson stands down, former Matilda named as interim replacement
He’s going to be hard to replace. He seemed to be a quiet achiever who could have eventually brought FA and the A PL together again.
We need someone good, because without doubt it would be a difficult and demanding job.
What areDavid Gallop and Frank Lowey doing?
We could certainly do with Lowey’s financial backing. I heard yesterday that FA had made a 9 million dollar loss – accuracy?
Actually, the first guy John O’Neill? seemed good

Just got my tickets Garry – should be a good watch. I think I should turn up in my Sydney FC shirt and tell them all to FCKU off home!

You can’t have all the fun.
Booked mine today – I’ll closely look for you in the active section, while I’m sitting comfortably.
A-League finalists all have worthy championship narratives – except the club nobody likes
There is certainly a lot to learn from Auckland and how they have set themselves up. Yes, they have a billionaire owner, but there’s more to their success than that.
