“The lopsided nature of the standings this season highlights a growing gap between the top and bottom clubs” What does this even mean????? The bottom 3 clubs on the ladder are Penrith, Roosters and Eels
'Pretty f--king happy!' Bears on brink of return as NRL and WA government come to terms, inaugural coach firming
If Cowboys fans weren’t at Perth the crowd would of been significantly smaller. Lots of support there. Why do you think Canberra would draw a bigger crowd???
Five and a Kick: Manly questioned in clash of contenders, hip drop call costs Souths, Fogarty raises price tag
The glass always seems half empty to Jimmy when he talks about the Cowboys.
An away win in sydney against a team in form. 2 points for the Cowboys while not playing well. That is a positive. It’s early in the season and there is lots to work on. Like 15 other teams.
Five and a Kick: Manly questioned in clash of contenders, hip drop call costs Souths, Fogarty raises price tag
I am not sure I would have Reynolds as easily in the top 5 number 7’s in the game. I would have Hughes, Cleary, DCE, Moses, Luai and Walker ahead of him.
NRL News: Isaiya makes Origin call, Cleary blasts Panthers' major problem, Reynolds in demand
Gee i was dumbfounded as to how Scott Boland missed out. Same as Jye Richardson. But the above list is wrong and they are both have a contract
'Promising upside': Three Aussie break-through stars rewarded with CA contracts
The 2 from 2 wins with Hubner were a 1 point win over the Dolphins and a 2 point win over the Saints. Both teams haven’t shown that much and they are not Penrith. I would chose Duncan
Five and a Kick: Red-hot Rabbitohs run amok as bumbling Panthers dish up defensive disaster class
In what sport?
Undermanned Reds snap 12-year drought in Dunedin to continue great revival, Wilson leads from the front
De Lutis is fast becoming my favourite Reds player. Only 21 and has a huge future

Yes this exactly Cam. There are a few glass half empty people on this site. I am guessing they are old blokes who yell at clouds when its cloudy 😂
They beat the 4 time reigning premiers (although missing a couple of their best) and they didn’t play that well. They got the 2 points. Its a very long season. But some expect them to be playing semi final quality football in week 3 of the competition 😂
Five and a Kick: It’s a knockout as Cleary, Meaney floored in Storm’s cliffhanger win over plucky Panthers
15! Thats great! That is half the squad and something to be proud of.
Payten’s place under pressure with Cowboys already staring down the barrel of another wasted season
Yer you never have to worry about having no local juniors. History, 3 QLD cup teams in the north and and a philosophy of pathways and developing juniors…..
10 locals out of the squad of 30 with its low population base should be very much celebrated. It’s a testament to what the club has done.
I think I am much more positive of where the club is and its direction
Payten’s place under pressure with Cowboys already staring down the barrel of another wasted season
Yes i am definitely not confident of that happening either 😂
But there is 3 North QLD cup teams and that is an excellent pathway to the Cowboys squad. If only they worked together 😂

Yes i understand that. Its a highly competitive sport and if you want success, its crucial to have the best person in each position throughout the whole football department regardless of where they come from. Like the Melbourne Storm do.
Qld cup is the place to have all local players/coaches etc and the best of those will end up at the Cowboys.

Coaches aren’t stupid. You don’t have to be from an area to know the aims of the club is to provide a pathway for local juniors to play NRL. Every club has the same aim to promote local juniors (even the Roosters and melbourne). Sadly its more for financial reasons these days to sign young teenage locals to your club for the long term benefits.
10 locals in the squad out of a population of a few hundred thousand is excellent. Many more locals and the club wouldn’t be that competitive. Brisbane a city of 3 million still relies on outsiders like Reynolds, Staggs, Haas, Kiwi players to remain competitive.
It’s a professional sport and a multi million dollar business and the cowboys club wouldn’t survive if they relied on local players/coaches//management/high performance team etc etc

Why would a QLD coach make any difference? That would be like just getting QLD players. Doesnt make much sense

Overworked? Khawaja? He plays only 1 format for Australia. How is he overworked?
'I've got a bunch of blokes who all want to play': Khawaja called out by QC over 'disappointing' decision to skip Shield for F1
Yer a couple of good 50’s. It would be great if he could make a 100. He is batting at number 7 but rarely bowls so hopefully he can move up the order and score his 1st hundred of his professional career. Loads of talent
Konstas clicks but Kuhnemann ends Blues' hopes, Bulls snare final berth with WA falling at last hurdle
Would Brown be in the top 20 players in the game? I think he would just make the top 10 halves. Doesn’t make sense at all being the highest paid player in history and not being in the best 20 players in the game
Why there is some method but still a lot of madness in Knights’ mammoth Brown deal
Gee that does look a strong bench. Might be a problem if a back gets injured early although Nanai to centre and Purdue to half/fullback or Vailea to wing should cover it
Round 3 Team Lists Late Mail: Manly star out, Panthers setback, Dogs pull surprise, Nelson cleared, Foxx doubtful
Well the boks are the world cup winners and the best team in the world 😂
Wallabies have built the frame to compete on Test stage after locking down TWO key World Cup forwards
Yer that was hilarious…. “Jury is still out on Duffy” A 21 year old. 1st game of NRL. Forwards were getting smashed etc etc etc 😂
Five and a Kick: Turbo a class above as Manly maul tackle-shy Cowboys, Sitili stars as Dogs sink Dragons but skipper in strife
Gee thats real harsh on Luai after 1 game with a new club. He played well last year with the Panthers when Cleary missed a lot of games
Five and a Kick: Woolf goes hungry after master gets better of apprentice, mixed bag for Luai as Knights edge Tigers
You want the super rugby coaches working 24/7? 😂
'Fired up': Larkham's timely Wallabies reminder as glassy-eyed coach admits 'rare' side of his shown during epic win
Who are the spanish? 😂
WA still a hope as Konstas falls cheaply, Boland gives Vics a sniff in crucial clash, Khawaja continues late-season surge
Are you a Souths supporter? Souths are decimated by injuries. Any team would struggle with the injuries they have. Have some faith in the club
