If you look back historically, the Western Conference has always been better. Even that “cakewalk” period when the Warriors dominated, teams like the Spurs, the Thunder and the Rockets had amazing records/teams. Up until this season, the last few years have been much more even between the conferences but this year, as you said, has quite the disparity.
A lot of it is circumstance for each team – the Wizards bottomed out and were always gonna struggle, the Hornets have had another injury-riddled year, but there are always a handful of teams that just end up tanking. It appears way more blatant amongst the teams in the east this year. I think next year will be an improvement but it won’t be anything xlose to the bloodbath that the West will continue to be.

West is best : The alarming disparity between the Eastern and Western Conference in the NBA

Yeah, something I noticed watching King in the series is her ability to get good drift in the air. At least among Australian players, she gets more spin than anyone that I can remember since Warne, and I think that brings an extra level of concern to batsmen.
And yes, King is thriving in all formats. Interesting that Wareham is their usual T20 spinner (along with some of the allrounders) but King warranted her selection with her WBBL and ODI form. Keen to see her get even better.

Drawing comparisons to Warne: Alana King is already proving to be Australia’s next great leg-spin bowler

As with any trade, more time is needed to determine the overall outcome. In saying that, grading the Mavericks a B at this point in time seems generous. I do agree that they still look like a very good team with some nice pieces, but it does look like they’ve shortened their window without actually getting better.

Make no mistake, the Lakers fleeced Dallas in Doncic trade. Here's what it means for both of their futures

I think the more information that has come out, the harder it has become to justify the trade. While it could well happen, I think the chances of Luka not re-signing with the Lakers is slim, particularly when you look at the history of star players re-signing with their new teams after being traded. I think Pelinka ws throwing out those concerns in discussions because he was doing his due diligence as a GM to give away as little assets as posisble. I think they would have offered more but it honestly seems like Harrison caved in easily.
There may be an argument to be made about Luka’s lesser conditioning perhaps contributing to recent injuries, but it seems insignificant when compared to the injury history of Anthony Davis. I think the commitment to being the face of the organisation is a weak point – yes, his conditioning wasn’t the best and perhaps his antics were occasionally offputting coming from a leader, but he almost always acted professionally towards media and the public, sometimes even criticising himself – which is rare in the NBA.
When you consider the supermax is 35% of the cap in its first year, regardless of player or team, and the NBA and their teams continue to profit, I think the supermax argument is ridiculous for a player of his talent and achievements at just 25 years of age. Jaylen Brown for example is on a supermax and almost anyone would choose Luka over him in a heartbeat. I think losing Luka Doncic is a worse long-term financial decision for the team, particularly if fan reactions from the last couple days are anything to go by.

Courageous move or downright stupid? Why the Doncic trade remains inconceivable to so many NBA fans

You make some great points James. The offensive flourishment of many teams is very impressive.
There are some opinions that the current nature of the game is offputing to some fans with how defence is being diminished. Do you think the current iteration of the game is the best product for NBA basketball?

What’s behind the NBA scoring boom?

I agree Paul, I hope the Thunder compete for a playoff spot. They’ve been getting increasingly better through the season and there recent form has aligned with Giddey stepping up a level.

Have to give credit to the Thunder and Daigneault for what they’re building, particularly when compared to the similarly-rebuilding Rockets, who look in disarray. They’ve built a system which has these young players buying in. Any playoff or even play-in experience will be valuable. Add in the fact that Holmgren will be there next year and with Presti’s assortment of picks, have plenty of options to keep improving.
