Some incredible games last night – attacking football was super – Wahs v Cowboys, Tigers v Saints, I am absolutely loving it . But hey, NRL has a way of stuffing this momentum up, because State of Origin is coming. My view = get rid of Origin. It’s nothing but a pain in the you know what.

Five and a Kick: Snappy Wayne has plenty of headaches, Warriors' hail new chief, and has Jarome made Tigers the real deal?

At 14 I was pretending to do my homework in my room.

'Incredible innings': 14-year-old prodigy blasts second-fastest IPL ton of all time to announce Royal arrival

Seriously? It is T20 – no one cares, the innings doesn’t matter. Score 50’s and hundreds regularly in Test Cricket or big 50 over tournaments, or go home.

Mind you, it aint rocket science that the Panthers run is gone burger.

Shades of Eels in ‘87 as Panthers tumble down the ladder … but they still have time on their side to claw back

They just brazenly keep rorting the salary cap in covert ways…

Yeah they’ll be there or thereabouts come September, but they ‘aint going to win the premiership this year – you simply cannot continue to offload your star players before their time has really ended and expect to keep winning premierships.

100% agree, Ross. 6 again is so subjective it is beyond ridiculous. It is the worst rule to happen to the game in the last decade that has unfortunately been allowed to stay as a rule for some inexplicable reason.

Another sin bin crackdown on the way with brow-beaten NRL refs ready to hit the over-react button

Have little sympathy for Australia. Plenty of Kiwis have played Origin and for Australia, or like Kurt Sorensen were not allowed to play for NZ in the late 70’s early 80’s . Test Football is now, literally the new Origin – where you were born matters little – it’s where your DNA is from, and for Payne it is Samoa. And I agree with this. Same thing should happen in Rugby – take the Pacific Islanders out of the All Blacks, they would lose a lot more games – they should be allowed to play from where their roots are from.

Huge blow for Meninga with star forward set to switch allegiances to Samoa

Someone is going to have to do a good job of convincing me that there is a good reason we refer to this League Tour of UK as ‘The Ashes’? The Ashes is cricket – and only cricket. And men’s cricket only too between Oz and UK – not the female version either.

Got him! Gone! Cricket's most error-prone ump dumped

He is 300 years old and still playing well. Remarkable major injury free run (I am sure he has had some injuries over the years) over many years – be a great buy for a club for a year or two.

'Not an easy decision': DCE leaving Manly - the three teams who should move heaven and earth to snare veteran star

She faces bowling that is about the level of a high school 2nd 11, and that is being generous. And ditto re batting. Completely ridiculous to say could be best ever if you are including male players. Oh, yes, and I am ready for the incoming “you toxic male pig” fire.
If not including male players, then yeah, reasonable article.

Ummm I don’t associate the All Blacks as chokers in any way.

India milk 'home-ground' advantage all the way to Champions Trophy glory after edging Kiwis in nail-biter

The one they lost was the one that counted. We all know it.

“The politics had an ugly impact on the tournament, however, the players themselves can do no more than turn up, do their best and hopefully win and that is what they did.”

Yep, no one ever blames the players nor should they. The Indian lads are good blokes from what you hear anecdotally. The issue is the BCCI – pretty much akin to a Mob outfit.

What game are you referring to? The World Cup in India? Oh yes, Australia won it.

This tournament will be as quickly forgotten as the last T20 international tournament.
Having said that, disappointed the Kiwis could not do the cricket world a favour a defeat Team Dubai. However I take solace in the fact that both Australia and New Zealand have recently dished out thrashing’s to India in the only form of the game that you are really judged by – Test Cricket.
However, I do believe Cricket 50 over world cups are more memorable than anything else in White-Ball Cricket, and hmmm, last time one of those were played India copped another hiding from Australia. And let’s not forget both the inaugural and the second WTC where the Antipodean brothers again dealt to India. So, enjoy your win today , Team Dubai, but it will be a short-lived memory — even the English Moral Team of Cricketers over there will probably start as favourites in the Test Series. So, let’s see if you can actually do something in a form of the game that means something.

Disagree. That is the rest of the country’s problem then. The new Auckland FC soccer team don’t worry about having “Auckland” in front of their team, and I think they are going pretty well in the A-League….leading it last time I looked.

What's in a name? Warriors' identity has waned - time to get back to their roots

I reckon. Definitely have the backing of all the cricket nations to wound the arrogant and ignorant BCCI. I think the Indian blokes themselves must feel a bit off about the advantages they have been handed being allowed to play the whole tournament in Dubai, but they of course will not say so publicly.

Blackcaps v Team Dubai Sunday evening. I have the Monday off, so might watch a fair bit of it.

Bit off that there was no live blog of the other semi final. NZ through in a pretty good performance, but a bit tawdry at the end with the two tall fast bowlers taking a bit of tap in the last few overs to gift Miller a century. They are going to have to drop one of those two, and play the extra batsman against Team Dubai in the final.
