Wests Tigers co-captain Jarome Luai is at the centre of another social media storm but this time it’s not of his own doing.
His father, Martin, posted “Get out clause activated,” with a face palm and eyes emoji after the Tigers copped a 64-0 hammering at the hammering by Melbourne on Sunday.
Luai has a get-out clause in his lucrative contract that he can exercise to be a free agent come November 1 so he can test the market for the 2027 season.
Coincidentally, he was heavily criticised last month after he posted “team first” on social media in retaliation to halves partner Lachie Galvin’s decision to tell the Tigers that he would not be re-signing with the club beyond the end of next season.

Another off-field distraction is the last thing coach Benji Marshall needs as he tries to regroup after the humiliating drubbing.
“We’ve got to be better than that, we’ve built standards that we want to live by and today we didn’t live by any of them,” the coach said.
“Everyone’s disappointed, embarrassed, probably a few other words you could use.
“There’s losing the game and then there’s being beaten, and we got actually beat today.
“We’ve got a team that usually fights for everything and I just didn’t see the same fight today.”
Kenny hits back at trolls
Panthers hooker Mitch Kenny has lashed out at online trolls who bombarded him with vile abuse after their 30-30 extra-time draw with the Cowboys on Saturday night.
Kenny posted a screenshot on social media with examples of the abuse he received after Penrith botched chances to seal the win in regulation time and during the golden-point period.
He opted not to pass to Nathan Cleary when the halfback was in position for a shot late in regulation time, instead inexplicably shifting left on the last tackle.

“F—ing useless c—, you’ve f—–g cost me a trillion dollars cause your a f—–g hog,” was one of the messages he received via Instagram.
“Imagine having the greatest ever player and not using him so the most f—–g mid c— on the planet can scoot on the last play of the game instead of kicking a field goal.
“What could of possibly been going through your f—–g thick head.”
The Cowboys missed four field goal attempts while Cleary had only one chance of his own in extra time on Saturday night but the strike was charged down by Harrison Edwards and Scott Drinkwater.
