Cricket's State Of Origin: Given its size Tasmania's All-Time XI bats above its weight and has a surprisingly good attack
Thanks, I have attempted to extend this series looking at best state/regions from other nations however editors do not think there will be an audience for it.
Cricket's State Of Origin: Given its size Tasmania's All-Time XI bats above its weight and has a surprisingly good attack
I acknowledged you had a valid point as someone who isn’t reading my mind as I didn’t fully flesh out my thought process, I put great players and knock them slightly as they played in the beginning of the game. I have researched many sports where stat’s from early on are great outliers so probably should of mentioned that earlier. Frank Burge was a foward who scored 8 try’s in a rugby-league match which is absolutely absurd by today’s standards, Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 points, stat’s from 25 years inception don’t take I take with a grain of salt.
Also with Turner he played less then 20 tests which is standard used to get a decent sample size. I admire your knowledge of the game Renato and what is a sporting all time column without a debate?
Cricket's State Of Origin: The King leads this Victorian all-time XI, but there's plenty more star power behind him
The batting is sorted for Victoria they needed best available bowler.
Cricket's State Of Origin: The King leads this Victorian all-time XI, but there's plenty more star power behind him
You make a valid point just with NSW incredible depth and he done most of his work 10-20 from the inception of test cricket so I really didn’t consider someone playing during infancy of sport when there is so much depth, for Victoria they lacked great keepers hence Blackham.
What is your reasoning for Armstrong being superior to Siddle what is it that I’m missing?
Cricket's State Of Origin: The King leads this Victorian all-time XI, but there's plenty more star power behind him
For players no one saw stat’s are most important metric to evaluate a player and Armstrong by his own era wasn’t that amazing stat wise. It’s the least subjective way to judge.

Hey Gilberto I meant born in last 50 years

Hey Reanato,
This is exactly what I wrote to Sheek and it applies to you also
Armstrong who no one here saw play have to rely on stat’s and compared to Siddle it’s not even close. Siddle 67 test 221 wickets 30. 66 average taking over 3 wickets a game Armstrong 50 tests 87 wickets 36 average taking over 1 wicket a game. Feel like players from 100 years ago have a aura about them

Thanks for the feedback sheek
With Warne felt the spin bowling is more then covered while the fast bowling ranks were lacking so needed the extra quick.
Also thought Woodfull was more of an opener and the other “Bills” were ahead of him.

What does Trumper do better then Morris and Taylor to be in the team?
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
For me it was his 33 average as opener and 23 against England just won’t cut it for me.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
Since never seen him play his average was mediocre and wasn’t that much better then people from his time. Cummins is our third best quick besides McGrath and Lillee
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
As an opener he averaged 33 thats no where near good enough to be opened a NSW all time team from what I read he legend grew mainly due to his attractive playing style.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
Stanley Jackson, Ranjitsinhji and Charlie Macartney

Don’t think it was first grade but to be a member of the wider squad.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
That’s why Michael Clarke is 12th Man to spice it up if needed. To be honest it was Simpson v Tubby for opener spot and gave edge to Tubby due to his excellent fielding.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
33 as an opener though with people from his era averaging more. Feel like Trumper legend grew from his flamboyant style and more so his performances. Appreciate the feedback as you can imagine NSW Team was not easy to narrow to 11.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
Think Victor Trumper slightly overated averaged 33 as an opener with other contemporaries with better average. I put him middle order in second XI as he was better there.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
Lillee is from WA.
I have really high opinion on Cummins only Lillee and McGrath I rate above him.
Cricket's State of Origin: New South Wales' all-time XI is so great, even the second team is loaded
Just needed Clem in the team as of of SA greats.
Cricket's State of Origin: South Australia's Chappell brothers made them a dangerous line-up
Essentially where you spent majority of your life before turning 18. So appears Mallet lived in WA longest time before turning 18.
Cricket's State of Origin: South Australia's Chappell brothers made them a dangerous line-up
South Africa have some very strong teams while Sri Lanka and Pakistan have majority of players come from same region will also field a good squad.
