it’s going to cost a lot of dollars for the NRL to invest in the pathways needed to make Perth a viable success. The key will be getting full value in the next broadcast rights deal and then convincing the other clubs to give the WA side a leg-up. The AFL is much better at using collective funds to help new areas, in league the traditional club and state bodies usually kick up a fuss to ensure their percentage of the funding pie doesn’t go down
