Brumbies back three defence is a huge weakness which the Canes exploited…
That fact the Brumbies gained a bonus point despite being outplayed, shows their ability to stay in the fight even when playing below their standards.
If you factor in the two tries by the Canes that could easily have been ruled forward, then all is not lost.

Top-finishing teams don’t lose more than 3 games, without huge bonus points.
This Brumbies team doesn’t tend to rack up winning bonus points.
Which is what will be needed to get into the top half and have better chances.
If they lose this one there will be immense pressure on Brumbies to win the rest of the games.
That will be difficult, considering they have to play in Brisbane, Sydney & Perth.
Although the Force deserved the win, the Brumbies can’t afford to lose home games, especially the ones they are supposed to win.
