Without wanting to sound like DonPriddis. There is 5- 6 genuine star players, from all over the ground that would walk into any teams starting 16. The role players aren’t playing or aren’t confident to play in a style that compliments them.

JL actually deserves a little credit for last night, they were ferocious out of the middle… for the first half of first qtr… lots of effort to be on the move on the outside as well, most the game. much more attacking intent was noticeable. Couldn’t win it out of the middle after their early dominance didn’t result in a lead. And some really costly skill error turnovers – because Collingwood are good. Then some game management crept in from upstairs and things went pear shaped again. They played another good half a quarter towards the end and weren’t far off, but as soon as 1 thing stops their momentum, there seemed no belief they could wrestle it back. They should stick to the attacking intent that improved from last week, even if they lose another couple while getting used to it. Might be something has to be drilled in preseason though, I don’t know. Agree about the start time. hours earlier should still be enough time for people to finish work and attend.

I hope for freo they have someone they’re already in talks with. Giving a caretaker coach half the season is such a waste. An old head would come in and release the vanilla shackles, no point having a short term replacement to just try to save face.

Eagles kids going to feel like they’re playing someone more their level. Look like boys vs men most weeks, even with what graham and bakes have brought. 2-3 with pretty good wafl form as well – gross, Grego, Hall… the draft slider Shanahan might get a debut. Going to be a good game.
