It’s hard when a team has a surplus of one position. Especially ruckman. Darcy is still maybe better, but injury prone. This can change though.

Footy Fix: The Pies are fast, furious, fearless and fantastically coached - everything Fremantle aren't

You’re right. They play way too safe. The best thing about my hawks is their dare and confidence. Hawks have clearly been given license to play to their assets and it shows. It’s what makes them hard to play against. Freo have a better team…on paper, but play like they aren’t as good as they can be. Freo need to believe more and start enjoying footy again and they go far if they do

Have to disagree with you there about unions. There’s a reason big corporations hate them. It makes them accountable to their staff. ????????‍♂️

AFL News: Cornes continues war of words with North, Coaches rally for change after Curtis ban, JUH swipes back at Riewoldt

Maybe you’ll send him to Geelong with a first round pick, like GC did, just to get him off the books

AFL News: Cornes continues war of words with North, Coaches rally for change after Curtis ban, JUH swipes back at Riewoldt

Yeah, you’re missing the point though. Many do it out of season or after a good performance, but if you’re on mental health leave from any job and then post continuously or regularly while you’re out having drinks, it’s not exactly making the effort to try and recover is it? It’s taking the piss

AFL News: Cornes continues war of words with North, Coaches rally for change after Curtis ban, JUH swipes back at Riewoldt

i came here just for the comments. With my popcorn…

Footy Fix: Freo, once again, are broken - and this time, it might just be coach-killing

Seems like JUH might end up like the next Nick Kyrgios…oozing talent, but prefers to just focus on social media

AFL News: Cornes continues war of words with North, Coaches rally for change after Curtis ban, JUH swipes back at Riewoldt

I agree. And for JHF, he was well within his rights to shove back, but its how he kept going and going and caused a melee, costing his team a goal and then walked away from coach and captain while in discussion about it. Bad look, but then Cornes ignores the facts and goes for the wrong kid in Sheezel. This is why people hate on Cornes.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 8: Rivalries galore on Election Weekend - with the biggest QClash ever

Hey Don. North smashed the Dees in round 2, so it wouldve been their 2nd win.
Chris Scott is a modern great coach, absolutely. The best?? No chance. He has made many prelims yes (6) and lost one granny in 2020, but only won 2. I say only, as Clarko took terrible hawks (which we were in 2004) to premiership glory in 2008 and after dropping off, he took us to 3 peat.
Other better coaches: ( I have tried to list from other states as well as vfl/afl to not be VFL centric).
John Todd: 6 premierships at 3 clubs (WA)
John Cahill: 10 premierships at Port Adelaide.
Jack Sheedy: 5 premierships in WA
Jack Oatey: 10 premierships in WA
Fos Williams: 9 premierships
Jack Hale: won 8 premierships for Collingwood
Norm Smith: 6 premierships (in 8 years) with Melbourne
Parkin: 4 premierships at 2 clubs over 3 decades
Jeans: (4 premierships at 2 clubs (winning Stkilda’ only one) and multiple consecutive grand finals with hawks.
Matthews: 1 premiership with Collingwood and 3 with Brissy.
Malthouse: Tookj doggies close, then won 2 premierships at Eagles and took Collingwood to 1 in 2010. And Sheedy was pretty special at Essendon as well.
Just saying that Chris Scott is elite and modern great coach, but he inherited a gun team and kept them going without winning as many as they could’ve. A champion coach, but not comapred to the list i gave IMO

I logged in just to comment on this. I just saw sidebottoms stats yand there is no way he wasn’t winning that award. 35 touches, 15 clearances (this is insane) and 598 metres gained. Think you might be wrong here Tim.
Sure, Daicos should’ve got some votes, but not the best on this day

Footy Fix: Sidebottom was great - but Nick Daicos was robbed of the Anzac Medal

Yeah, the Easter Monday always attracts 80,000 or more, so they put it there.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

Players do it these days. It worked, as ch reacted and Rioli got a second goal and game officially over

Port respond to Rioli's Hawks bake as legend's 'keg on legs' comment about dad revealed as source of 'hatred'

Not sold on him. He’s kind of like the forward in Lewis that we already have. Potential, without really have breakout years and always injured. I think he’ll go to Brissy anyway. He has better chance at premiership success there tbh.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

home advantage??? Its at MCG, Hawks home ground. Just saying. But scared Hawks will get smashed or at least comfortably beaten.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

Clubs aren’t loyal, so why should any player be loyal. He should look after himself, as its a short career. I think he’s going to be a superstar within the next 1-3 years.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

The AFL fixture is so so so biased and basically means the AFL controls who finishes where. Some clubs get it easy, that the AFL want to win and others get smashed. Its all about cash and not much about integrity of the game itself unfortunately

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

The attacking brand that you speak of has increased this year, as Hawks used it last year and it worked wonders. Now other teams are being more bold, which i agree, is a much more attractive style.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

were they?? I dont think so.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

depends what colours you like. I love brown. I hated their guernsey on Sunday though.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

My concern is that Geelong have also dominated us the last 4-5 years and we have them up next. Could get ugly. But i hope im wrong

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

You do realise the media are fickle right??
It was literally this time last year where the media were calling Hawthorn the worst team of a decade and that we were tanking and that it was unfair to play us twice, as it was a huge advantage. One minute they say youre horrible, next you are the GOAT.
The media is always like that. And next week or two they will be on someone else’s bandwagon.
Most Hawthorn supporters i see on social media forums (on Hawthorn sites) are downplaying our potential. We are at least another great midfielder and a great tall forward short of contending for real

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

Gutted. We were 2nd rate against port. Without Day, we might be falling fast. I hope we can find another way. But woeful this week.

Six Points: Port's first-half massacre means absolutely nothing, and the one thing Dees can't afford to do

Unfortunately many supporters can be dicks when their team is at the top. You’re not wrong that many were a bit too cocky. I never liked those sort

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions, Round 5: Welcome to Gather Round III - who's leaving Adelaide with a W?

valid point…like hodgey went to Brissy to help rebuild and same with Lewis at Melbourne. Some players enjoy mentoring young players.

The Eagles are finally on the right track - so let's leave them (and Harley Reid) alone
