That’s the Tahs season now done. Geoff two vastly different observations. Firstly the Tahs game was not shown on free to air. Whilst it obviously conflicts with the NRL, not even the affiliate 9 channels showed it. Instead there was “ West Coast Cops “ and the Opals v Tall Ferns game. Someone needs to get in Phil Waugh’s ear.
Secondly this one was on field in Saturday nights game in Perth. Harry Potter is put through a gap with Cory Toole in front of him.
Rather than take him on with ball in hand and test him defensively, he aimlessly kicked ahead against the fastest player in the country who had it covered comfortably. Potter looks a handy player but that was not a smart play at all.
The Wrap: Imagine how invincible the Chiefs would be if they shared players with the Warriors?
Very guttsy win Bunnies, they were bang average in first half. Broncos should have been out of sight. Latrell huge in the clutch moments, the field goal was epic.
Five and a Kick: Latrell magic buries Broncos in Bunnies boilover, Des defies doubters as Titans escape Knights' clutches
Very strong squad as it always is. Feel for Doris who misses out with injury and likely would have been the skipper.
Three Kiwis, two Aussies and ONE bolter named in Lions squad as coach snubs son for Wallabies tour
Should have clarified Jordie Barrett as the best player in the World on form.
'We punched them in the face': Aussie trio star in epic Leinster takedown, Barrett benching torched
Love Magic Round, great win by the Milk AJ, what a cracking game.
NRL Magic Round Talking Points: Forget ninth, Tigers will definitely play finals this year
Kiss is a good appointment however once he takes the reins, he doesn’t have a lot of lead in time before the World Cup. A cost control measure by RA obviously however imo it’s not ideal. Yes more Schmidt is good but does Kiss serve some kind of apprenticeship under him or did I miss that part ?
Great win Canes and the Brumbies were ruthless. Times have really changed with crowds, didn’t look a big turnout in Canberra.
20 years ago this fixture would just about sell out be it in Sydney or Canberra.
The Wrap: As ever, parochialism in Australian rugby rears its head in battle over Kiss appointment
Brilliant game, Cullen should be rightly torched for leaving the best player ( current form ) in the World on the bench. This incarnation of Leinster are the best team to have never won it. Good on the Aussie lads at Saints.

Five and a Kick: Dolphins stun Storm, Dogs put bite on Bunnies as Latrell goes missing, and injuries cast doubt over Origin duo
Congrats to the Dogs on a dominant performance. Tough viewing for Bunnies supporters. Latrell was very disappointing and Cody was poor also. Pigs had a crack and Gary was our best again. Atkins is a pedantic as they come but still missed a few forward passes from Mahoney and Haywood. Not in anyway an excuse for the Bunnies but just an observation. Dogs were outstanding.

The Dragooons are going better than there 3/6 record suggests. They should have beaten the Bunnies and Eels and would be sitting near the top of the ladder. They were good last night but Manly were equally poor. They look well out of sorts at the moment.
Five and a Kick: Sloan the new Lomax as Dragons make mockery of wooden spoon predictions with Manly upset
Very good point. The Tigers have contributed to this mess also yet appear to be getting a free pass by many.
Galvin’s Tigers bombshell highlights the lunacy of NRL’s farcical player transfer system
What a complete mess, clearly this is a play to seek an early release. He wanted out last year and wants out again. Why would the Tigers be willing to pay the farm for a lad that wanted out last year and is managed by one of the games most influential / disruptive figures. Sure he is a real talent however the red flags should have been raised last year.
The young lad is getting really poor advice and the ludicrous timing of this has the potential to derail the Tigers season. Not to mention put unnecessary pressure and scrutiny on Galvin for the rest of the season. Is he that desperate to leave the Club early he is willing to be put through the media meat grinder for how many months ??
I feel for Tigers fans however it was a dangerous game throwing all that money on the potential of Galvin only for his manager with many runs on the board in this area to tell Richo, thanks but no thanks. Assume the Tigers then wanted to go public to throw it back onto Galvin and Moses irrespective of what impact this might have on the team after a decent start to the season. Again just a huge mess.
Galvin’s Tigers bombshell highlights the lunacy of NRL’s farcical player transfer system
No anger from this Tahs fan Geoff. Very happy with the win after a horrible trip across the creek. That try was absolutely superb and will never get tired of watching it. On the competition as a whole, it’s been brilliant with so many upsets
Super Rugby's officials must stop refereeing on outcome, why RA should let Gordon go - five things
Don’t think we will see an Eels like drop off from the Panthers but they have a fair bit of work to do to do. Playing at CommBank negates any home field advantage. Still plenty of time to make a run and it might take them the second half of the season to get there.
Shades of Eels in ‘87 as Panthers tumble down the ladder … but they still have time on their side to claw back
Steven, AJ and Aitken are expected back this week. Aitken will likely slot into right Centre with Jack going back to the left and Latrell at 6, Sullivan to 7. Stretch should be back in a week or two and Cody only out for a couple of weeks. Tough run of games coming up but as last week showed, this is a gritty and resilient group.
NRL Power Rankings: Round 5 - Top two head and shoulders above the rest, Penrith empire falling and never, ever trust Titans
Hearing Sullivan trained at 7 today so Dodd may not be picked this week.
I know he played State Cup yesterday.
NRL Round 5 Talking Points: The high contact crackdown is on… or is it?
Have to agree these power rankings look odd.
NRL Power Rankings: Round 5 - Top two head and shoulders above the rest, Penrith empire falling and never, ever trust Titans
Agree the inconsistency of the high tackle mandate was as always wildly consistent. Very guttsy win for the Bunnies with some reshuffling of the backline this week. The Dragons threw away another game, Storm stamped there class and the Raiders winning try will be hard to beat this year.
NRL Round 5 Talking Points: The high contact crackdown is on… or is it?
Great to see Pasifika having a good season even if it is at the expense of the Tahs, that was a poor second half. Hard to see them making the semi’s after a bright start to the season. Good win for the Force.
The Wrap: 'Where they really sit' - brutal reality sets in for Tahs as finals reckoning takes shape
Wonder how Schmidt is feeling about this after investing so heavily in him last year. He would be mad to persist with him any further now. Lynagh and Jack Deb for me for the Lions.
'Put a lot of work into him': Wallabies star quits Australia, Schmidt faces big call on eve of Lions series
Brilliant win Bunnies, showed a lot of ticker. Gray outstanding once again, what an engine.
Latrell stood up in the big moments despite a couple of fluffed kicks. Shout out to the unsung guys that put in big shifts, Mamouzelos, Sullivan and Hubner.
Five and a Kick: Crackdown continues, Latrell magic lifts Souths past Roosters and Penrith slump worsens with Cowboys loss
How many years has Hynes got left on his deal ? It certainly has put their cap well out of whack particularly when his form fell off a cliff after Origin 1 last year.
NRL Round 4 Talking Points: Mahoney's 'garbage' act, and why on earth was Turbo cleared to play?
Thanks AJ, regarding this weekends round of games. Pretty sure Bunnies are hosting the Chooks at Accor, does mention Sydney Football Stadium which is a good old school term !
NRL Round 4 Talking Points: Mahoney's 'garbage' act, and why on earth was Turbo cleared to play?
Tough viewing for Phins fans at the moment. The roster looks by and large the same as last year plus a couple of additions yet they look a completely different team that’s not playing well. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Latrell field goal will be hard to beat for moment of the season so far, loved his try !
