Albo, considering the rumour is no Panthers player drank from the bottle maybe it contained a bit of soap or lubricant? I mean if this a common Panthers tactic why not.

Panthers facing sanction after trainer SPRUNG using underhanded tactic

Geoff i don’t know how you approach that during a game? Do you think coaching staff are allowed to do this during a game. I think the NRL have a policy of officials not being challenged by anyone other than the Captain during a game. Dearden was saying a bit to the officials coming off at half time? A good coach wouldn’t distract players carrying on about this either during a game. Maybe a bit of Payten’s annoyance could be attributed to the officials not stopping it if Dearden said something to them?

They were doing it consistently enough for a spectator to realise and focus on the practice. The Ref did nothing. I’ve never witnessed a Cowboys trainer with the ball during a game yet. Do you have some evidence of this or are you saying “the Cowboys did it” to deflect blame. Honestly the Panthers are only tarnishing their reputation future consistently doing this. It would appear their integrity is questionable.

It’s little things like that make me suspicious of everything about the achievements of those involved.

WATCH: Did eagle-eyed Cowboys fan catch Penrith training pulling a sneaky before golden point?

I’m thinking Payten was very frustrated. Obviously he’s watching his team week in week out and what’s being called and missed by the officials. The Cowboys have been chasing points all year and I think he’s identified that in the Cowboys games consistency changes consistently?

Five and a Kick: 'Make the f--king right call!' Payten's blow-up, Dragons forget how to win, Jaeman needs to let grudge go

Maybe Payten’s point is they ignore a forward pass or a high tackle, then they call a forward pass or a high contact penalty. It’s random. Derby was contacted high in the in goal and then collected a knee high as he tried to get out losing possession? Before that they gave a penalty for a bloke falling in to Taulagi belly? It’s very random and far from consistent. They ruled McIntyre offside and fortunately the Cowboys had a challenge left. They ruled Derby lost possession but it was a blatant strip lucky they still had a challenge. The game result was literally on a ref’s call but they refused to make a call when players were well off side in the last 10min? but they gave a hell of a lot of 6 again and penalties early in the game which gave resulted in the Panthers having 65% possession at half time and definitely helped them score points?

Interestingly the Panthers trainer has been caught out giving the ball a good drink before Panthers kickoff. Honestly how far do the Panthers go to win a game of football? It’s ball tampering Rugby League style. They obviously thought what the cricket boys got suspended for was clever play. I’m interested to see what the NRL do to address this?

Clifford saves a lot rushing up or covering up stuff on that side. He’s made multiple try saves this season.

Derby and Vialea made a lot of those errors.

Payten has finally had enough of the NRL officials.

LOL. You’re delusional. I referred to officials rewarding arm wavers nothing about milking. You are the king of hypocrisy when it involves Bulldogs and NSW young fella.

Good to see you’re fine with it and not carrying on. LOL Calling Tino a cat is highly subjective to what he felt in the contact. It’s typical of your view on things in blue. I’d suggest you have a good look at what Preston did grabbing Tino under the arm, twisting and dropping his weight down on his head. Tino was in visibly discomfort as the pressure was applied. Of course you don’t see it like that? LOL. It’s not BS and the judiciary confirmed he deserved a lengthy suspension.

Ezra is a very lucky boy with the suspension. It would appear others have been judged differently like Robert Lui, DeBelin and Filou IMO.

He’s got a reputation for playing the Bulldogs way.

Well they changed the interpretation about late contact a few years back. Any player touching a kicker late on or touching kicker’s foot is asking to be penalised. Hey don’t get me wrong it’s pretty much a Nathan Cleary implementation. I remember Gould, Robinson and plenty south of the border endorsing pressuring kickers back when Langer, Thurston and others got whacked. They literally pick players like Beau Scottt, Frizzell, Sims because they had a knack for a whack in the act of kicking. Do you think Carrigan is going to risk a penalty for touching Cleary considering he’d already got pinged for touching him when he was actually legally allowed to bump him is my opinion.

NRL Magic Round Talking Points: Forget ninth, Tigers will definitely play finals this year

Cotter has been charged with high contact. I’ve seen the vision of Griffin Neame dropping the ball in contact and it shows a perfect shoulder charge sandwich to his head? I criticised Neame at the time for dropping the ball. Now I criticise him for not lying down. Interestingly Cotter being of small stature runs fearlessly into opposition forwards. He would be hard to tackle low for opposing big forwards. Interesting he doesn’t receive many penalties for high contact but also drops the ball more than McClean, Taumalolo and McIntyre combined? Players often lose possession when whacked high. The contact that saw Storm lose in golden point was very different to the contact Neame received and ruled fair

Carrigan got penalised for making contact with Cleary when Cleary charged at defensive line? The definition of tackling/ touching an attacker that has run past the ball and into the line is an interesting interpretation. You can’t expect a defender to not commit and disappear. You are offside once you run past the ball? Nathan is special and defenders are aware of this.

Well I enjoy the SL over the NRL in many ways. The less manipulation and inconsistence interpretation by officials is definitely more enjoyable. Suncorp, Wembley and Old Trafford have been highlights of my sporting experience. Maybe Luke is missing home and is annoyed he isn’t getting all the adulation and attention he would in Sydney?

'Over dramatic': Super League responds to Luke Keary's brutal 'horrendous' comp sledge

It’s funny how times have changed. Back in the day a coach ( full grown man) could clip a kid across the head. You’ve indicated it was all good but now days the youngsters of today will never have a memory like that because it’s just not acceptable. Not having a go mate just reflecting on what rugby league was like back in my day and wondering if the reason many of the players playing today enjoy the brutal physicality of the contest.

The Bunker is out of control - but players and coaches are just as responsible as the refs

So you got belted around the head and belittled in front of your peers for not putting your head down and wearing a knee in the head?

The Bunker is out of control - but players and coaches are just as responsible as the refs

First of all you mentioned “Sharks forward Teig Wilton was penalised for an accidental head clash while trying to tackle a Knights player with the ref conceding it was unintentional even as he penalised him and put him on report for good measure.” It was reckless as Wilton left the ground and collected an upright opponent in the head. He should have binned but wasn’t. Next you suggest “The best tackles in rugby league are when a defender crouches low and their upward arc squirts the ball from their opponent’s grasp?” Well maybe the knee raising should be a send off because they completely missed that part of the best tackle briefing. Lateral was crouched and trying the best tackle technique also but his opponent decided dropping to the ground before contact is great also? The worst head contact in the Cowboys game with 2 player’s heads colliding attempting to tackle low? Yet they bin a bloke for holding an attacker back after kicking whilst also disallowing try because his teammates were both off side? It’s a s..t show.

The Bunker is out of control - but players and coaches are just as responsible as the refs

They won’t go back for lower end contact because they have over reacted. Some should’ve been binned and others probably shouldn’t? The Burton, Tupouniua ( knee) contact compared to Montoya sin bin was extraordinary. LOL. It’s either gross incompetence or lucky dipping in the bunker booth.

He’s been doing it for a long time. Jimmmy do you honestly think Robinson doesn’t encourage his players to push the boundaries with their contract on opposing players? Fair dinkum I’m 100% certain the Roosters and a couple of other teams live on a bit of a free pass a lot of the time. Most certainly some teams would have 5 on the field if given they played that way.

Five and a Kick: Munster defends Latrell as ban confirmed for high hit, Ponga not Origin level, dirty act Crichton must stop

Fa’alogo dived down before contact in a previous try. Mitchell avoided high contact at the last minute by jumping over him? It was a split second adjustment by Mitchell. I think Fa’alogo deliberately attempts to fall before contact played a big role in this instance. It’s not an accident slip by Fa’alogo because he did exactly the same thing earlier.
