That would be more interesting than playing for Wallabies. Plus, you might get the odd win

There’s no bears in North Sydney either, nor Dragons in Wollongong, Knights in Newcastle and very few Rabbits in Redfern

True – especially since they would have to train harder and have their lifestyle monitored

Correct….no to both. Silly idea but one that i think is more based on promotion than reality

This isn’t uncommon for players that get a long-term deal. I would imagine it could put one consistently in 3rd gear.

Queensland want it more. You could drag Big Trev – front rower for the Muttaburra Maggots – out of the pub and he’d get the job done

As I said in another thread – blow the pea out of the whistle for all contact with head. It has to be gone from the game or litigation will kill it.

A football-style walk-out won't work in NRL, so how can fans be heard amid crackdown nonsense?

I just read the definition of nihilism as that is a new word for me. I’m not sure that you’ve used it correctly.

The Bunker is out of control - but players and coaches are just as responsible as the refs

For the sake of the future of the game all tackles must be abdomen or below. To compensate for additional offloads there are 2 extra players on the field for each team.

The Bunker is out of control - but players and coaches are just as responsible as the refs

Yes. If all tackles are to be lower than the current benchmark, to reduce contact to the head, then it would mean more offloads. If that is so wrong, then simply add another player to the on field team

Fair enough about responsibility of the tackler etc. however the dynamics are such that despite best intentions and efforts, it can still go wrong. I’m ok with a penalty in those situations, because that’s the rules. Sin bin and some suspensions are occasionally a bit OTT but the game has to be seen to do so

Actually, in real terms Panthers are not running last. The 3 teams immediately above them have the benefit of 2 points from byes whereas Pennies havent had one yet. If you take that into account, the for/against has Penrith above those teams

I say blow the pea out of the whistle. It might be hard to watch for a while but the message will soon get through from PVL etc. that if players can’t play by the rules and games keep being an infringement-fest, then nobody is going to watch – then everybody is looking for work.
Stop the petulant disregard for the rules….and refs – please stop on field coaching. Its the players and captains job to mentor – yourself is to blow the whistle. Just blow the thing

Sounds good – i thought 2 refs worked well. Maybe bunker can have specific people focussed on specific aspects of the game, eg. play the ball or offside. Having said that, i think touchies need to put cock on block a bit more and call things that they must see as plain as we do at home. If they dont see foward passes or offside, its because they arent in position to. If thats because they cant keep up then have 2 touchies on each side.
It’s such a fast game with so many dynamics to adjudicate on, it’s extremely difficult to get right. All the refs have to make such quick calls or the game continues and the time to do so has passed. So offside in the defensive line and forward passes get missed often and players and coaches exploit that.

Can’t agree with Mitchell being sanctioned. I saw him implementing correct technique and within the rules. I saw dynamics beyond his control resulting in accidental contact to head. Shouldn’t be getting games for that
